On January 6, 2010, Amedeo Minghi participated in the celebration of the "Festa del poliziotto 2010" held at the "Palatlantico" in Rome. The event was dedicated to Rome's police force and their families. It was organized by CONSAP in collaboration with "Occhi per Comunicare", a non profit organization for the children suffering from the Angelman syndrome. Amedeo supported the event by volunteering to perform several of his songs.

On March 31, 2009, Amedeo will join the largest "Pauline Pilgrimage"of the year. A month after the Holy Father's visit, 1500 people will embark on a trip to the Holy Land. Amedeo Minghi will soon be taking a short trip to the world of wonders. Between March 18th and 20th, 2009, he will be a special guest of St. Michel, Normandy. On the morning of March 19th, at 10:00 a.m., Amedeo will sing in the Abbey of St. Michel his song dedicated to this little pearl of the west, after which, he will be awarded a medal by its Mayor. On the same day, Amedeo will visit the city of Deauville where, in the evening, he will sing songs from his repertoire at the casino and will surprise the audience with an homage to the great poet Baudelaire.

On Thursday, July 26, 2007, Amedeo Minghi received an Award in recognition of his career during the final ceremony of the XIX edition of the Literary Award "La Cultura del mare" held in S. Felice Circeo, at 7:00 p.m., in "Piazza Lanzuisi".
On July 4th, 2007, Amedeo Minghi was a guest at the 12th Edition of the Louis Braille Award held in Rome at the Teatro Quirino. He performed his music piece 1950 with the accompaniment of the Symphonic Orchestra. This event will be broadcast by RAI 1 at a later date to be determined.
On June 17, 2007, Amedeo Minghi participated, as president of the jury, in the Festival della Canzone Italiana d'Autore held in Munich. on March 26, 2007, Amedeo Minghi participated in the event "Girotondo per il Meyer" held in Florence at the "Teatro Saschall", at 9:00 p.m. It was an evening of solidarity organized by the association "Ciemmeesse" (CMS) with the support of the city of Florence, its province, and the region of Tuscany, to benefit the oncohematology center of the Anna Meyer children hospital in Florence.
on March 25, 2007, Amedeo Minghi gave a concert at the "Palacongressi" in Agrigento (Sicily), as part of the charity event "La mimosa d'oro aiutiamo l'Africa". The proceeds of all donations were given to the association "Il nome del padre" through its president, Claudia Koll.

The judges of the literary contest "Il Mulinello" have assigned the special "Premio alla carriera" (Career Award) to Amedeo Minghi for his book "L'ascolteranno gli americani" published by Rai-Eri. AMEDEO MINGHI's VISITS TO THE UNITED STATES
Amedeo Minghi was invited by the Columbus Citizen Foundation to perform on the red carpet at the NEW YORK FIFTH AVENUE COLUMBUS DAY PARADE on Monday, October 9, 2006. He was also invited to attend other festive events that preceeded the parade, such as the Sponsor and Media Party and Concert at Grand Central Station, on October 6th, and the Columbus Weekend Gala Dinner at the Waldorf Astoria Grand Ballroom, on October 7th. Wherever he went, Amedeo was given a very warm reception and was followed with great interest by the media who photographed him and interviewed him on different occasions.
The 62nd annual Columbus Parade, on October 9, was spectacular. It was a day for Italian Americans to show their pride in their heritage, and they succeeded in doing so. The parade started on 44th Street and ended on 79th Street. Thirtyfive thousands people of Italian origin marched on Fifth Avenue led by General Peter Pace, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. It is estimated that about one million people were present. Many watched by the sidelines an interminable procession of exquisite floats, music bands, marching bands representing various schools, Italian-American Cultural Associations, Italian and American Armed Forces - and all highlighted by the presence of many dignitaries including New York City's mayor, Michael Bloomberg, Governor George Pataki, Senator Hilary Clinton, Senator Chuck Schumer, Consul General of Italy in New York, Antonio Bandini, and Louis Tallarini, President of the Columbus Citizens Foundation which, every year, organizes this wonderful event. . The parade was enhanced by the performance of several artists on the "red carpet" at the corner of 69th St. and 5th Ave. And here, is where Amedeo made his grand entrance!
As soon as Amedeo arrived to the red carpet aboard a bright yellow Lamborghini car, he was greated with a roaring applause. Especially pleased were his American fans who came to see him with the anticipation of hearing him sing one of their favorite songs, and they were not disappointed. As soon as Amedeo began singing LA VITA MIA, they could hardly contain their joy. They jumped from their seats with excitement, cheering and applauding throughout the performance and after. Amedeo, clearly moved by their enthusiasm, walked to the grandstand where many of them were sitting, shook hands with them, posed for a few group pictures, and granted the wish of those individuals who wanted to capture this unforgettable event by being photographed alone with him.
It was a great day for all Italian-Americans and, undoubtedly, it was also a memorable day for Amedeo and all his fans not only in the United States, but also those in other parts of the world who, thanks to the American television network NBC, and RAI INTERNATIONAL, were able to see Amedeo performing at this great event.
At the end of the parade, I was approached by several people, including some who were not familiar with Amedeo Minghi's music. All expressed words of praise and appreciation for his performance.
Needless to say, as soon as I arrived home that day, I found several phone and e-mail messages conveying the same feelings of appreciation. THANK YOU, AMEDEO, FOR YOUR WONDERFUL PERFORMANCE AND THE CARING YOU ALWAYS SHOW FOR YOUR FANS! I also wish to thank the Columbus Citizen Foundation for inviting Amedeo Minghi to perform at this very important event celebrating Italian culture. Last but not least, my heartfelt thanks to Massimo and Maria Teresa from Bologna and to all the members of our Fan Club who came to the parade and showed their appreciation of Amedeo Minghi's music with such great enthusiasm. On Wednesday, March 15, 2006, many members of our Fan Club had the privilege to spend an evening with Amedeo Minghi at our residence where we held a special welcoming reception in his honor. Amedeo, who had been performing in two concerts in Canada at the Niagara Falls Casino Resort, on March 11 and 12, took a special trip to New York City to meet with us and to explore the possibilities of future concerts in New York. The reception was also attended by Domenico Delli Carpini, journalist of "AMERICA OGGI", Nino and Rosa Magarelli, hosts of "CIAO ITALY", on WRHU (Radio Hofstra University), and by Mena and Tony Pasquale hosts of "POMERIGGIO CON TE" on ICN Radio.
Amedeo's entrance was greeted with great enthusiasm and a roaring applause. It was hard to believe that he was actually here! During our past reunions, our members only had the pleasure to talk to him on the phone. This time, he was here, in person. He had gone out of his way to be with us, and his effort was much appreciated. Amedeo, visibly moved, responded very warmly to the welcoming greeting of his fans, and expressed his desire and hope to perform in New York City in a not too distant future. He, then, spoke of his present projects which include a platinum collection of 48 of his songs, scheduled to be released at the end of this month (March, 2006), and the publishing of his book entitled "L'ascolteranno gli americani", a line taken from one of his most famous song "1950", to be presented at the TORINO BOOK FAIR, in May, 2006. Later on, he also showed us a trailer of a DVD, soon to be released, of a concert he gave in Rome on 5/22/2003 which included the beautiful song "UN UOMO VENUTO DA LONTANO", dedicated to Pope John Paul II. After the opening remarks, Amedeo shook hands with each person present and engaged in conversation with them. All were impressed by his lack of airs, his friendliness and his genuine appreciation of their admiration and interest in his music.
The atmosphere was festive and warm. Amedeo's affability, his wonderful music in the background, a variety of different foods and delicious desserts, all contributed to make this evening very special and memorable. Thank you, Amedeo, for making this possible! And thank you to all who came. Your presence, your support and enthusiasm was very much appreciated. Grazie di cuore!

On THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 1st, 2001, AMEDEO MINGHI performed in a benefit concert at the MANHATTAN CENTER STUDIOS, in New York City. The concert, entitled "RINASCERE INSIEME", featured three other Italian artists and was organized by RADIO ITALIA. It was sponsored by the Italian Region of Lombardy and various Italian organizations as a gesture of friendhip and solidarity with the people of New York City, after the tragic events of September 11th, and as an expression of solidarity with the Italian-American community of New York City.
Many of Amedeo Minghi's fans in the United States had the opportunity to hear him sing in person and, perhaps, for the first time.
The concert was an enormous success. The theater, which holds three thousand seats, was packed. The people who attended came by invitation. Our Fan Club was well represented even though we could only have a limited number of seats reserved for us.
Amedeo Minghi enchanted the audience with five songs from his repertoire: LA VITA MIA, I RICORDI DEL CUORE, SERENELLA, UN UOMO VENUTO DA LONTANO, and his latest hit COSI SEI TU. As soon as he entered the stage, he was received by a warm, sustained applause. after the first few notes of LA VITA MIA, many people stood in appreciation of this wonderful song. The excitement of the fans was clearly visible throughout Amedeo's performance.
At the end of the concert, many fans had the pleasure to meet with Amedeo personally and leave with an autograph from the artist they so much admire. We also had a chance to pose for a few group pictures.
"Thank you for the opportunity to participate at this wonderful event. I enjoyed the concert immensely. The artists were all great, especially Amedeo Minghi; I would have liked to stay afterwards to meet him, but it ended quite late and I had to make my way home. Perhaps for another time."
"I just wanted to thank you again for the invitation. I enjoyed watching Minghi's performance, as well as the others. I think everybody in the audience went to the show just to hear Minghi and "la vita mia." The people around me sat up to full attention when the first chords of the song were heard."
"It is almost 11:00pm and I just returned home from the concert. First let me just say that I thought he was fabulous. It is the first time I saw him in concert and he struck me as very "young" on stage, which is always a good sign. I thought he made a perfect selection out of his repertory. It's been awhile I played Amedeo's CD's but the next couple of weeks you can be rest assured that I'll be playing them for a long time. Grazie, grazie, grazie!!"

AMEDEO MINGHI'S VISIT to the UNITED STATES was a big success. He and his family arrived in New York City on April 22nd, where they stayed until April 28th. During this time, Amedeo participated in various events which culminated with his concert at the Taj Mahal, in Atlantic City. On the 30th, he flew to Toronto, Canada, to perform in two different concerts. He also performed in Montreal, before returning to Rome, on May 3rd.
At every event planned during his visit, Amedeo was met by the public with great enthusiasm. Everyone who came in contact with him, was very impressed by personal warmth, and charming personality.
EVENTS ORGANIZED DURING AMEDEO'S VISIT:
April 24th - 6:00 p.m.
"A conversation with AMEDEO MINGHI"
at Casa Italiana Zerilli-Marimò
New York University.
This event, organized in collaboration with Professor Stefano Albertini, Director of "Casa Italiana Zerilli Marimó" was attended by many members of our Fan Club, students by N.Y.U., and some high school students. Prof. Alessandro Carrera, author of Musica e pubblico giovanile Feltrinelli, 1980, introduced Amedeo Minghi, and led a conversation session on the artist's music and career.
Professor Albertini acted as interpreter. There was a friendly and open interaction between Amedeo and the audience. The session was followed by refreshments which were served in the attractive courtyard of "Casa Italiana". Amedeo's music was floating in the gentle evening breeze. The artist was mingling with the people, talking to them or answering their questions.
One of Amedeo's greatest fans, who came all the way from Wales in order to meet him, was overwhelmed by Amedeo's friendliness and unpretentious manners. "I could not believe I was actually spending time with this wonderful singer-composer", he said. "I admired him greatly before, but even more so now.”
It was a wonderful evening. Everyone seemed happy to be there. Many of the people present had never met Amedeo in person. This event had given them the opportunity to do so, and they were very grateful.

Amedeo signed copies of his latest release STUDIO COLLECTION, as well as his classic recording LA VITA MIA.
At the end of his visit to RIZZOLI's, Amedeo was interviewed by Francesca Leoni, of RAI Italian TV, New York.
April 26th - 13:30 p.m. - Visit to NEW ROCHELLE HIGH SCHOOL
For the last few years, many students of Italian at NEW ROCHELLE HIGH SCHOOL have been learning some of Amedeo's songs in their Italian classes. On April 26th, they finally had the pleasure to meet him in person. Approximately 170 students assembled in the school's library where Amedeo joined them. The students asked him several questions about his songs and his career. They also had the opportunity to sing with him their favorite song: LA VITA MIA. Amedeo was very moved by their interest in his music, and by the many welcoming signs they made, displayed throughout the school. At the end of his visit, The students presented him with a bouquet of roses and a plaque with a message of appreciation for his visit and his beautiful songs.
Before leaving the library, many students lined up for his autograph.It was an experience they thoroughly enjoyed, and one they will never forget.

CHARITY DINNER, at the Greentree Country Club, New Rochelle, N.Y.
Amedeo was the guest of honor at a Charity Dinner held for LUMSA, a Catholic University in Rome Italy. The proceeds were donated to the university for their scholarship fund. All were charmed by Amedeo, and were very thrilled to be in his company.

CONCERT AT THE TAJ MAHAL in Atlantic City, N.J.
Many people who came to the Taj Mahal for Amedeo's first live performance in the United States, and what a performance it was! At the end of every song, the audience cheered with words of praise and requests for more. Amedeo, touched by the enthusiasm of the public, sang for a longer period of time than was originally scheduled. At the end of the concert, he met with the members of the Fan Club. Group pictures were taken, and he was presented with a plaque inscribed with words of appreciation for his beautiful songs. Everyone was visibly moved and grateful for having had the opportunity of sharing a few moments with him.

AMEDEO MINGHI presented his book "L'ASCOLTERANNO GLI AMERICANI", on May 5, 2006, at the INTERNATIONAL BOOK FAIR held in Turin at the LINGOTTO Complex. I was fortunate to be able to attend to this exciting event. Amedeo held a conference, accompanied by a video, during which he talked about the salient points in his book including his debut at age 19 with the song ALLA FINE. As always, I was charmed by his semplicity and the wonderful gift he has to connect with his audience. The large conference room was filled with many of his fans who had traveled from every part of Italy to be there and to participate in the celebration of Amedeo's latest accomplishment.
I have read the book with great anticipation, and found it very interesting and delightful. This meeting, which takes place every year on May first, is usually attended by 10,000 to 15,000 young people from all parts of Italy. It is intended to give hope to those who might feel misunderstood or neglected by society. It is also organized to make young people aware of the many problems afflicting the world, and generate in them compassion for those who suffer.
Amedeo Minghi has always had a great admiration for Pope John Paul II.
During the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Pontiff's papacy, Amedeo participated in a series of events organized by the Italian Government in different parts of the world. He had been invited to perform the beautiful song dedicated to Pope John Paul II: UN UOMO VENUTO DA LONTANO. IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO AMEDEO MINGHI'S FRIENDS
In 1998 Amedeo Minghi, together with Marcello Maiocchi, composed a music piece for His Holiness Pope John Paul II, entitled UN UOMO VENUTO DA LONTANO. The piece is accompanied by a five minute video which accurately portrays the Pope and his spiritual path. Yesterday, April 7, 2005, Amedeo was a guest on Bruno Vespa' TV program A PORTA A PORTA on RAI I. He had brought the video mentioned above to be shown in memory of Pope John Paul II. The rights to the video belongs to the Vatican. The agreement was that the video be shown in its entirety, be not manipulated by any other network, and be shown only in the presence of Amedeo. The agreement, however, was not fully respected by the network who "maimed" the video by showing only a few seconds of the beginning and the ending of the tape, thus leaving out the most essential part.
Amedeo is very distressed by this because it concerns the Holy father and his image. He asked all his friends to join him in expressing indignation by writing to RAI and to the major Italian news agencies..

A SPECIAL AWARD FOR AMEDEO
On December 9th, Amedeo Minghi was honored by "Club Roma Alitalia" at a special evening event entitled "Night under the stars". Amedeo was given an award for his cultural contributions and for having distinguished himself as an outstanding Roman personality in Italy and abroad.
CONCERT IN ROME
AMEDEO MINGHI'S CONCERT, sponsored by the city of Rome, took place on December 19th at the PALALOTTOMATICA (the totally restructured old sport arena at the EUR center in Rome) which, since its recent renovation, has been the stage for concerts by artists such as Santana, Ben Harper and De Gregori.
In celebration of the 25th anniversary of the papacy of John Paul II, Amedeo Minghi participated in a series of events organized by the Italian Government in different parts of the world. Giandomenico Anellino, inspired by Amedeo Minghi's songs, is currently preparing an instrumental-anthological album for classical guitar only. This CD is the fourth of a series that the famous guitarist has dedicated to Italian singer-composers. (In 2001, to Claudio Baglioni, in 2002 to Renato Zero, and in 2003 to Lucio Battisti and Amedeo Minghi). The CD should be released by the end of July. It should be possible to purchase it at a promotional price of approximately eight euros at the web site of "RADIO ITALIA solo musica italiana" or by requesting it at any of Amedeo's official Fan Clubs. Amedeo has accepted the invitation to participate in this initiative due to his high regard for Giandomenico, and also in celebration of their first one hundred concerts together. On May 22nd, VIDEO ITALIA SOLO MUSICA ITALIANA, recorded Amedeo's concert at the GRANDE AUDITORIUM in Rome. The recording will become a HOME VIDEO in a DVD format.
A CD SINGLE containing Amedeo Minghi's Sanremo song: Sarà una canzone has been released. This CD also contains the songs "L'altra faccia della luna" and "Le tue favole". A new edition of the album "L'altra faccia della luna" with the addition of the song "Sara' una canzone", has also been released.

Following the tragic events that have hit so many fellow americans these past few days, we received messages of concern and sorrow from AMEDEO as well as several members of the Amedeo Minghi Fan Club in Italy.
Fabio and Ombretta write: "We would like our message to reach all the members of the Amedeo Minghi Fan Club in America. The impalpable thread of music that has kept so many people connected, was broken by the deafening crash caused by the evil actions of some individuals. In contrast, how different is the sound of Amedeo's beautiful songs with their message of love! By sending this message, we wish to express our desire to feel close to the people who are suffering, and share their pain."
We thank Amedeo and our friends in Italy, and join them in expressing our love and sympathy to any members of our Fan Club who have lost relatives or friends.

SUMMER 2001:
•In the past few months, Amedeo Minghi has been performing in major cities throughout Italy. On August 8th, I had the pleasure to attend his concert in Giulianova (Teramo). The concert, which was held in the main town square, was attended by so many people that many of them had to stand in streets adjacent to the square. It was a magnificent performance. Amedeo's beautiful, soothing voice, accompanied by the sound of many violinists and other musicians, resounded in the air of a perfect summer night. For two and a half hours he charmed the people who came to hear him sing. As always, He responded with affection to their comments and requests and wished everyone a peaceful, good life.
Quite a significant and precious wish in light of the recent events and the troubled time ahead of all of us!

SPRING 2001
On May 28th, 2001, Amedeo performed in his Concert Recital ANITA, at the TEATRO FILARMONICA in Verona. It was the first time that this prestigious theater had opened its doors to "light music". Amedeo's performance was spectacular and was received by the audience with sustained applause and a standing ovation.
SUMMER 2000
Since August 6th, Amedeo has been performing in concert throughout Italy. On August 12th, I had the opportunity and great pleasure to attend his concert in St. Vincent. As always, the theater was full, and his audience was totally captivated by his outstanding performance and his warm, sincere affection for all his fans. See pictures below:

FUTURO COME TE
"Futuro come te", the song that Amedeo Minghi and Mariella Nava sang at the recent SANREMO SONG FESTIVAL 2000, has been incorporated in a new edition of Amedeo's CD "Studio Collection". This new edition has already been released, and should be available in all major record stores.

MUSIC RECITAL "DECENNI"
Since November 27th, 1998, Amedeo Minghi has been performing in his music recital "Decenni" in major theaters throughout Italy.
As always, his performances have met with overwhelming success and a very enthusiastic response from the audience. One of our fans has sent us this picture of Amedeo during his performance at the "Teatro Colosseo" in Turin, Italy, on 12/15/98.
As it has often been the case, all tickets were sold out.
AMEDEO'S NEW ALBUM "DECENNI"
"Decenni" has been distributed to many different countries, and is also available in the United States. Request it at any major record store.
The new album is also available in a Spanish edition, under the title of "Decenios". In this edition, all the songs are sung in Spanish by Amedeo Minghi.
"Decenios" has been distributed to Mexico, Spain, Chile, Colombia and Venezuela.
"Decenni" contains the song about Pope John Paul II, entitled "Un uomo venuto da lontano". It was first sung by Amedeo Minghi at the Vatican two years ago, at a concert that was part of a series of celebrations commemorating the Pope's 50th anniversary of his priesthood.
Another interesting feature of the new album is that the CD has a Multimedia CD-ROM portion which includes a videoclip of images related to the most significant events of the Pope's life.

A very special Telephone Call
On January 5th, 1999, Amedeo's Fan Club in Italy had their post-Christmas National reunion in Rome. On that occasion, a group of my students from New Rochelle High School had the opportunity to exchange greetings and New Year's wishes with Amedeo by telephone. The students, who have been learning some of his songs in their classes of Italian (as mentioned in the section below), were thrilled when Amedeo sang to them a part of his song "La Vita Mia".
The students were very impressed by Amedeo's cordiality and appreciation of their interest in his songs.

STUDENTS LEARN ITALIAN THROUGH AMEDEO'S SONGS
For the last five years, students at New Rochelle High School, New Rochelle, New York, have been learning Amedeo's songs in their Italian classes. One of their favorite songs has been "La Vita Mia". Amedeo's songs have proven to be a very valuable teaching tool and an excellent source of learning. Through the texts of the songs, the students are exposed to various aspects of the Italian language. One song can generate many different activities that could make teaching and learning Italian a more enjoyable and rewarding experience. Cari amici,
spero aderiate a questa iniziativa che credo possa rispondere alle aspettative da più parti e da tempo reclamate. E' un grande e reciproco impegno che prenderemmo ma sarebbe per meglio condividere le cose amate.
PRIMULA sarà un "piccolo" mondo nel quale non cercare rifugio ma trovare cuore. Chi ha cuore deve poterlo dimostrare ed usarlo e noi ne abbiamo di cuore. Da sempre abbiamo cuore e siamo di cuore per il cuore. Non so quanti potremmo essere ma sapete che per me tutto è all'insegna dell'istinto e anche questa volta a quello mi affido perché una cosa è sicura; la certezza di poter contare su di voi. Ci siete e ci siete stati da molto tempo prima che ci fossero, giustamente, anche "gli altri". Quelli "bencapitati", magari per classifica, per moda, perché si doveva fare, per….. "presenziare". Ma siamo di cuore, lo sappiamo.
Primula sarà dunque esclusiva e lo farà spontaneamente giacché si può entrare si ma scientemente, quindi con cognizione. Certo, chiunque potrà visitare tutto quello che vuole quando, quanto e come lo desidera, secondo la propria volontà. In Primula però, sceglierà un modo per farlo. Un comportamento.
